Resource Description and Access (RDA)

Note: RDA is available in Destiny v11.0 and higher.

RDA expands the patrons’ ability to find, identify, select and obtain resources. MARC records in RDA format contain more information about the content type.

examples:

  • Content type - performed music, still image
  • Media type - audio, video
  • Carrier type - videodisc, flipchart

To change your Preferred Descriptive Cataloging Form to RDA, see Preferred Descriptive Cataloging Form.

In Library Manager, you can convert MARC records that follow AACR2, or Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, cataloging rules to follow the new RDA cataloging rules.

important: You must convert MARC records one at a time.
